Service inclus?

On our last trip to st Barths we heard contradictory statements regarding this. Is st Barths like mainland France where tip is included at restaurants or not? I know even in the south of France waiters say it’s not to get Americans to tip on maid services boston. Not sure if the same strategy is done in st Barths. We always tip but it’s good to know for future visits.

thanks
In St. Barths, tipping practices vary. While some restaurants may include a service charge similar to mainland France, others may not. It's advisable to check your bill or ask your server about the tipping policy at each establishment to ensure you're following local customs appropriately.

I'm pretty sure it's a French law for service compris, St Barths included. No need to consult the establishment.

Yes. Here is my bot test using ChatGBT to reply to the query
In St. Barths, tipping customs can vary depending on the establishment. Generally, tips are not included in the bill at restaurants, similar to mainland France. However, it's always a good idea to double-check the bill or ask the staff if you're unsure. While tipping is not mandatory, it's appreciated for good service. Regarding the strategy you mentioned about waiters in the south of France, it's possible that similar tactics could be employed in St. Barths, but it's not a universal practice. Ultimately, tipping is a personal choice, but it's always nice to show appreciation for excellent service.
