We have read about the man made islands of monofilament in the ocean but had no idea there is a continental sized body of seaweed. The article mentions a strong odor which sounds awful. Even though it may or does clog harbors and inlets, the writer implies that the plant is actually beneficial to the environment. We now know that although it is unpleasant, it is ok to swim with it as well as walk on the beach when it is around. Thanks for sharing the article.
