Without going into technical details of the grill, I would vouch for Tropical (we were there before the renaming). We were there for lunch and the food was simple, local and of high quality and the service was very attentive, the ambience was relaxed and low key. It was, and probably is, in a different dimension than Sand Bar but still worth visiting if time allows.

It seems to me that the French and Saint Barth all have a love for good food, properly prepared and served. Glitches happen everywhere from time to time, but even at the simplest place there is attention to detail and staff strive for perfection. Now, before I become totally in rapture I think about my time working in Basel Ch and having a succession of good to great meals in places grand and humble. I told a Swiss colleague I thought it impossible to get a bad meal in the country. He said “Oh I take to you to such a place”😉

Is there a good place to get a bad meal in SBH?

You probably need to start a separate thread for that theme, John.
