Restaurant du Jour: Le Bouchon

just got back from three weeks in paradise,
and we ate lunch at le bouchon at least 2 or 3 times each week.
it is one of our favorite lunch spots:
food is good in a simple, no frills, local kinda way.
tony, the waiter is a friendly guy, with a great sense of humor,
who can handle the whole place effortlessly.
i loved the grilled calamari special and the paninis.
thin crusted 4 fromages pizza is delicious.
my husband said they have the best hamburgers on the island,
keeping in mind that le select's hamburgers are in a category of its own.
btw, the owner, greg, and his wife, mimi, now also own le piment.

My boyfriend and I thought the pizza was delish -- we didn't make it to Andy's, though, so I can't compare. Does anyone know if the enormous yellow Lab we saw there (cruising every table for snacks) is a permanent fixture?

I ate at Le Bouchon the other evening, and they've classed up their act a bit - without raising prices on their main dishes. I was all set to have a pizza when the server offered a plat du jour of tuna tartare and salad. I ordered it, thought it was great, and found the 14 Euro price reasonable.

In place of the previous umbrellas, etc., they've installed a high quality vinyl/canvas tent top over the dining area. They're doing a big business of almost exclusively local people, maybe because there aren't many tourists here in October. Since Bouchon is actually in the carpark at March

Tim - thanks for the pics. We are anxious to stop at LeBouchon on our November trip. Have not had a lot there but everything we have tried has been very good, with prices to match. Love the casual dining and find the spritzing so unique and refreshing! Who knew you could get a mini shower while having lunch?? Carpark views are one of our favorites and people watching a past time. Thin crust pizzas are sometimes a welcomed change - BUT, there really is NO comparison to Andy's as you not only get the wonderful food but also the personal welcome and table-hopping of your gracious host! Carpark view with coverage..perfect!
