Questions about car rentals in St Maarten

We are looking to rent a car in St Maarten. We would like to pick it up at the Marigot Ferry Terminal and drop the car off at Grand Case (SFG) for our flight to SBH.

Has anyone had experience with this and is it even doable?

If so, who would you recommend?

Make sure you don't leave anything in the car if you are doing any walking. Last time we were there our window was smashed and some items were stolen.

Also, be careful of a problem reportedly a frequent occurrence on St. Maarten -- "bump & run." A car bumps another one . . . when the driver of the car that has been bumped gets out to inspect the damage, a "bad guy" gets in the car & drives away -- stealing it.

I’ve used Izzy Car Rental in the past…the pick up and drop off (same day) were at the Marigot Ferry. Great experience.

The only time we ever took the ferry was when we got delayed and there weren't any planes flying. Many people got sick; but luckily we didn't.
