Quelle journée!

Well, folks, the day was spectacular in our little car from Odile. Ok, I gotta be really, really honest: my trip last year at this time did not go well, as I had picked up some horrible cold on the airplane and felt pretty awful most of the trip. I went home kind of depressed about the resto scene, the grumbling about party-goers, etc. I was ready to throw in the towel after about 25 years so took our chances on a cruise. The cruise is lovely but the weather has been rough all over the Caribbean.

All this to tell you that Saint-Barth is BACK! At least , I am.. now y’all stop your complaining, nitpicking, crabbing, etc.😱. There in NOTHING as fantastic as this island, and the old one “ain’t” comin’ back, so get out there and enjoy every minute here, mes amis! I will do an in depth description of my day (yes, shopping locally is my thing because I get to visit amazing people/friends) and truly, I almost cried coming down from La Tourmente” when I saw my little airplanes landing. Nothing like being in the front seat but I did not get that chance, coming in on a boat. If you have a better lunch (lobster roll oblige), in a more beautiful and meaningful place than the most beautifully newly decorated Eden Rock, good luck and blessings to you because that view is all you need! Ignore the tu m’as vu people and enjoy yourself! All I can say is “Aaah, St Barth” to quote my royal friend, Amy🥰 Folks, I’ve been a lot of places and there is truly NOTHING like this “home” for all of us🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Bon, d’accord, rant over. À plus tard…

Thank you for this fabulous post. I knew you could relight the fire.

Enjoy your cruise and each other.
Big hugs

Ok I am Kvelling with your post. Amy can explain Kvelling better than I. One can always find the old St. Barth. It has some wrinkles and joint pain as well all do as we age. My philosophy on aging is we can’t compare where we are currently to an older version of ourselves. St. Barth is aging. Business owners are looking for the hook to stay relevant & make a profit. Totally understood. Let’s look for the good in the chaos. For instance. L’Esprit, Eddy’s, Le Repaire, Le Select, Bar D’Oubli, Ti. Corail, Pearl Beach, Kiki-é Mo, (Cheryl’s Fav), Caribe Waterplay, Les Bananiers, Tamarin, (please don’t yell at me about Tamarin, one of our favorite go to places). See you on the beach!

Rephrasing Billy Joel (hope he forgives): "It is St. Barth state of mind", that we are after, and as long as we keep it, we will be OK.

Leon agreed and you always put a smile on my face. If you are home please stay warm and safe over the next few days. We have not had this snow prediction in a while. Amy & Phil are safe from the snow!

Yeah, it is a biggy. Y'all, who are under the clout, please be safe.

Lots to be concerned about as my upcountry mainland family and friends are in for one big zetz! A really big snow and ice event is knocking on your doors. Take good care of each other.

Keep warm and safe. Now is a good time to look at your SBH photos that you have stored in albums, drawers, and on electronic devices. Charge everything while you have power and check your battery supplies too. This too shall pass. Inthe meantime let your warm SBH memories shine on you.

It has been chilly down here in Sarasota, but so grateful for the mostly warm and thankful for living in a NO SNOW ZONE.

Warm hugs forum friends

They can put all of the loud restaurants or expensive stores they want. Nothing can change the view from the plane as you swoop down, the magic in the air, the walk up to Saline, the rainbows, the cloudy orange sunset from Pt Milou, the pink sunrise from Vitet/Devet, the sweet little cemeteries, the cheery locals. You can easily avoid all the changes and still have your beautiful island home away from home.
