Planning our next trip!

Happy New Year! Originally, my husband and I planned to go to Croatia this year, but we just can’t stop thinking about St. Barths so we’re altering our plans, slightly last minute. We’re looking at going in either April/ May or July. July would be the better timeframe for us, but we’re concerned the island will be too quiet and restaurants will be closed. I tried to search for restaurant closings in July, but I’m not the most talented at the search function :grin1:
Also, trying to decide where to stay. For our honeymoon we stayed at a villa in Lurin and LOVED it. We had 360 views and it was so easy to drive to and from Gustavia for dinners. Are there any other areas you would recommend?

Thanks so much for your help!

In the past Santa Fe closed at the end of June and reopened early September.

We are in Lurin and it has newer and safer roads. More homes and rental places as the island continues developing.

We always go in the April timeframe and we love it. We also stay in Lurin. We’ve stayed in villas all over the island, but prefer Lurin above all other locales. It’s proximity to Gustavia and Gouvenor, as you’d mentioned, and it’s all-around central access to everything St. Barth has to offer, is why we like it so much. Let’s face it, there’s no “bad” area to stay, it’s a matter of personal preference. Enjoy the planning process and keep us posted on what you decide to do!

Why not do both, St Barths and Croatia? We are!
We love the Lorient area; and for something different, we stayed in Gustavia last April, which was convenient and fun to be able to walk to everything!

My wife and I will be there in July as that is the only time we could make it work with schedules. I am worried about some restaurants being closed and am bummed that we won't get to try board favorite Santa Fe. I get the impression though that there will still be more than enough places to grab some great food.

Lake, this is what Phil wisely says

NO ONE EVER STARVES ON ST BARTHS
and
SO MANY RESTAURANTS,SO LITTLE TIME
