They sprouted all over the place this fall.

Looking forward to anything with truffles at la Gaiac!

I am thinking about the spaghetti in the cheese wheel with the black truffle cream sauce-wonder why?

I was thinking about it and I have never seen that particular dish in real life! A credit to your photography and reporting.

Not to put a damper on things (Who? Me?) Harvesting 'shrooms can cause some deadly after effects. Know what you harvest (get good local advice and really check out what you picked.)

A good look and taste can be fatal. Just sayin'.

Really.

'shrooms are great. But, they can be a killer. One year we were out picking. Some ahole couldn't resist wolfing one (safe variety) down right in the field. It lodged in his windpipe. A quick Heimlich solved that. I simply told him to stick with commonsense - bag 'em, rinse 'em and enjoy AND don't inhale while plopping them in your mouth.

IMHO. Heimlich, CPR, basic med skills and commonsense are mandatory skills to have before leaving the house. Come to think of it, good stuff to have under your belt around the house.
