Absolutely great location.
We still catch ourselves calling it Tom Beach, but Pearl Beach has done an amazing job keeping that same down-to-earth, beachside charm.
The atmosphere is relaxed, genuine and unpretentious, the kind of spot where you feel part of the island rather than just a visitor.

Unlike some of the other beach-side restaurants and hotels, which seem more focused on hunting pigeons, Pearl Beach keeps it authentic, and that makes it a true gem.
It’s also worth noting that the restaurant is open for dinner, which period is a lovely, low-key vibe . . . with subtle lighting, not-too-loud music, and intimate seating available at tables on the beach.

Good reminder - - I haven't been to dinner there in a very long time. Is the menu different than the lunch menu?

I had been hoping that PB might fill a slot for such a low-key casual place. It won't, but we are thrilled (so far) with the nouveau GdS for that role. Nice chill ambiance and mix of locals and SBH visitors.

I also like the new Grain de Sel (I even, for many years, liked the prior version . . . though food & service became “hit-&-miss” in its last few years). I do feel, however, that the menu of the new GdS is very limited.
