Over/Under Colombier Hike 50 Minute Challenge

48:37

I DID IT!!!!!!!!

And I will never do that again.!!!
started out a little later and the sun almost did me in-- that and the darn short cut road---I walked backwards and sideways up it and knew I had lost the challenge at that point-- didn't check my time until I could see the finish line and when I saw how close I was, jogged the last hill.

I had my mapmyride tracking me on my cellphone and will download it once I get in the states and email to you. I also took a finish line selfie (not attractive) that shows just how hard I worked! Will try to get that on the forum.

Cooling down the rest of the morning and then treating myself and a friend to Eden Rock Lunch!

Thanks for the great challenge!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! It is indeed a tough challenge. JEK and I will have to get out our checkbooks.

"JEK and I hereby challenge fit readers to make the hike/climb shown as number 8 (Upper and Lower Colombier Beach Hike) in the thread,https://www.sbhonline.com/forums/show...king-amp-Walks The first two(and only the first two) readers who report making the trek in 50 minutes or less will cause your humble moderators to donate 100 Euros apiece to St. Barth Essentiel. Congratulations to Nane! We were watching hoping to be the first one's to complete the challenge, but we got in two days too late....
In any event, we completed the route yesterday in under 50 minutes!

So we would like to pay-it-forward and reset the challenge. For the next one that completes the mission, we will donate 100E to the same SBH cause.

(Notes from the trail: Don't do what we did and leave at 11am - way too hot! Leave some extra time and energy for the last hill - it *&^%$#@!) image.jpg

Jeff, Congratulations on conquering the challenge, and thank you for your generous offer!

Hooray, Jeff.

Nanette was pooped and in discomfort yet absolutely glowing when she described her trek! Well done all.

Wow, you two look amazingly cool and rested. Please tell me this was a before the hike shot!?! I'm trying to figure out how to download my "after" picture and it is not pretty!

Congratulations and and great idea to pay it forward!

How long is the challenge going on? My husband has run that loop many times when we have stayed up high in Columbier at Villa Haute Maison and Villa Kercliff, or in upper Flammands at Villa Lumiere. We stayed in Marigot last visit, so he didn't run that loop (but we were on island before the challenge was posted anyway), but maybe next winter if the challenge is still active?

Open to any and all forever, but the donations will need to be taken over by other members. Who would like to be next for the €100?

Nane - The photo was definitely the before shot. We actually got in the car went to the Super U and then remembered to take the 'after' photo, but it came out a little blurry. Not a pretty picture - we looked like drowned rats. At least it helped clear out people in the Super U aisles. (Also, Suzanne wants to make sure she gets credit for the walk too..especially since I'm posting the after shot!)
