The first one I stopped to read is Tamarin. INCORRECT information as it is NOT open at 11 am. Dinners only. Closed Monday evenings.

Just sayin'..........

The restaurants in Blue on my post are links to either their Facebook page or website or both. It gives hours, phone numbers and pictures.
Its better than the misinformed Wimco link.

Me, I have been quite happy with Kevin’s restos lists...they have proven to be spot on and ever so helpful. That list and the maps, work.

I might be missing it, but I don’t see 25 Quarter on either list...they were one of the first restaurants to reopen after the storm. It has a casual menu and nice vibe; hate to see it overlooked.

Sorry, I didn't really look at the list and I don't really know what is open. I just took it off a Wimco email that I was sent today. Since you guys seem to post and talk about every possible article and tid bit that is found and since I thought that was the theme of this "food" forum, I thought some that haven't been to the island in the last few months might find it interesting. I also thought some that don't know the Island well may enjoy the little blurb on each place and it seemed nicely arranged and easy to read (on the link, not sure how the info from the article was put on my post as I did not paste that mess). I also see now that some places say "old" things like "opening December 15th". My bad. I Apologize for posting it.

Jim A--glad you got involved. Input is important.
The effort to keep these lists on target is monumental and needs constant input.

It is the fact that the lists are often inaccurate and people who should know better, in this case host WIMCO, should do a better job at editing and proofreading.

You just have to understand that just as soon as these things are published, they are out of date.

As in the real world, BUYER BEWARE. That is why it is good to make reservations and to know for sure your restaurant of choice is in fact up and running as published.

Just the other night I popped in to make a reservation at Black Ginger for Tuesday evening. Brain fart-that's the night they are closed and I knew that! Luckily, all concerned were flexible and another night was chosen.

Better safe than sorry.

We are coming down Feb 3. I asked Sibarth to make a reservation for Espirit for that week but do I need reservations more then 2-3 days in advance for Isola, Black Ginger etc?

A day or so in advance should be fine, unless you're going to be a big group. Then you probably want to revert to 2-3 days.
