I have been exercising on st. jean beach for the last few days....water is calm...no waves and no seaweed. I exercise for an hour or so getting there around 6:15 and then afterwards I arrive at eden to go for breakfast which makes all the calories I lost exercising come back ....I arrive to eden just in time for the first tradewind plane to land around 7:30. so breakfast and a show.

The wind is east now, but for the past 12 days or so has had a little south in it. Gouverneur and Saline are just covered in seaweed. Efforts to remove it are fruitless. Machines were working on Gouverneur last week but gave up. Tractor was on Saline Tuesday but the seaweed comes in faster than he can pick it up. Lorient, St. Jean, Flamands and Colombier have all been in great shape.

Yes, there is plenty of seaweed on both beaches but the water on Gouverneur was cristal clear with no sargassum and it was literally empty, not a single soul at 3pm on Saturday.

There is weed on Salines ( my favourite one ) especially on the eastern side, but not so much in the middle and it'mostly dried out, Still the best beach in the morning

St Jean was clean, no weeds at all , and crowded today, if it was not for the blasting disco music it would have been perfect

Sounds dreamy.

this is Sunday 5/10 at govenuner. Not only is the beach loaded with sargasm but the water was terribly polluted with the stuff - unlike I've ever seen in 30 years. Not swimmable! Shell Beach and St. Jean were clear and clean

I was at the Gouverneur on Saturday 05/09 between 2 and 3pm and there was not a single seaweed in the water, I guess it changes daily, there was a bit of a stench occasionally when the wind blew in certain areas but nothing that would made us drop everything and leave

I saw they were cleaning Salinas today in the morning repeatedly, the tractor with a rake was going back and forth and removing seaweed and it's a difficult proposition giving the new patches of sargassum were washing on the beach, but at the time the water was absolutely excellent, clean and clear
