Thats the latest in the rumor mill. Planned restaurant to locate behind Le Galawa sometime next year. If its as good as his restaurants in New York, I am looking forward to this.

As a regular visitor to his Las Vegas restaurant, I would love to have one on St Barth - but my credit card wouldn't.

That location behind Galawa is now a pay parking lot, correct?

He will be there 1 month then leave just like Jean-George did with ER

Libby - Galawa is the former Pipiri Palace.

Andy is correct- here today gone tomorrow! Put a stamp on the menu and spread his name and then on to other things.
I think I’ll wait to see if there’s any substance to the rumor then see what form the offering might take. JR is not J-GV. I would not anticipate any half-hearted effort from Monsieur Robuchon.

yes but even the greatest chef in the world can't be in two kitchens at the same time... they have to farm out the actual cooking, like a restaurant mill... that's one of the reasons I love Esprit.. a talented owner chef toiling in his own kitchen.. as they say in NY, Paris, Vegas, etc the best meals are by the chefs who have just left the starred restaurants and opened their own place, and putting all their effort toward their own first star... I guess we wait and see what happens with JR...

Agreed. I’m the first one to crap all over the half-hearted offerings of the famous chefs who put their names on hotel restaurants and flee the island before the ink is dry on their menus. That’s the main reason why I stopped dining at two 5-star hotels. Having dined many times at Joël Robuchon’s Las Vegas outpost, I anticipate a much higher standard. If a JR restaurant is opened on SBH...

PS The building permit for the former parking lot behind Galawa does list Restaurant as the planned use. JR or no JR, there’s going to be a new kid in town.

Point taken, Ellen, but talented restaurateurs can create magic in multiple locations. For example, my top pick in Saint-Barth is L’Isola, where Fabrizio shares his time with his LA and Miami restos.

Monsieur Robuchon has passed away at the age of 73 in Genève. Cancer of the pancreas. Requiescat in pace.

So sad to lose another great chef this year after the earlier loss of Chef Paul Bocuse. R I P
