You need a “care” package!Dang! I'm on the hunt! Cuttyhunk Island, my home, is dry, so THAT was a very short search. New Bedford, our closest hub of hooch is not known for fine wine.
Tomorrow I search in earnest. We have deliciousl and NOT delicious Portuguese wines available locally, thanks to a multigenerational Portuguese community that settled in New Bedford during the 1800's, whaling all the way. Wine stores have dedicated aisles for Port, Madeira,You need a “care” package!

Vino Verde and others. Many houses have grape arbors above their driveways and in their back yards. It is beautiful. In the tight streets, triple deckers, former housing for textile mills of New Bedford have trellised grapes up to the rooftops. Come fall, markets in the north end have baskets of grapes on the sidewalks for folks without room to grow their own. And then they make wine. What a wonderful world.
