Maya's Closing

From the island grapevine, both Maya's and Maya's to go were sold to Eden Rock. This is island grapevine news only, not from the source. Maya's to go will close July 15. very sad indeed.
Buyer is not Eden Rock . . . it is someone new to the island (and not part of the St. Tropez contingent).

My source is the girl who works at Maya's to Go, I eat there every morning. but perhaps she is wrong, she was given this information by her employer. you may however be right Dennis. Bottom line , both places will be missed.

”Her employer,” as in Randy & Maya?

I just repeated what the employee of Maya's to Go told me this morning as I was getting my pain au chocolat for breakfast.

Her info could be wrong, I never asked her any questions about who may have purchased the two places, it was information that she volunteered after I enquired about whether both places would be closing and she gave me the dates of closing for both places. I have not spoken to either Randy or Maya.

For all of you heading down, had a great dinner at Maya's and they informed us they are closing on Wed June 30th. Book now. Last night is regular menu, not a buffet event.

Seriously? Oh my gosh. We had some friends that just returned from St. Barts a few weeks ago and told us that the grapevine rumor was that Maya's was closing in December. We booked a trip for August so that we could go to Maya's one last time. I even made online reservations! Joke is on me I guess! Well, damn! Maya and Randy, if you see this post, best of luck in retirement. You deserve it!

Maya's was a family favorite for many years. The hospitality, food and ambiance will not be easy to replace.

First "upscale" restaurant I ever went to in SBH. Randy sat w me to craft a gift certificate to thank my bungalow manager. So many visits w so many family over the years. Always dazzling. Thank you Maya and Randy!

I talked to Maya last night and she confirmed that they close for good after tonight's a la carte dinner.

This is the saddest news for us! A twice per trip visit every year since 1985 and our very favorite place. Please give them our best and wish them luck--and we shed a few tears, especially after having to cancel this year and last year.
