For all of you heading down, had a great dinner at Maya's and they informed us they are closing on Wed June 30th. Book now. Last night is regular menu, not a buffet event.

I’ll be there, as I was in Maya’s opening week — was in 1984? A very great sadness to see this passing.

So is the final chapter in the book? Maya and Randy ride off into the sunset. They deserve a good rest.

Oh horrors!!! We will be so sad if that is the case. We always hit Maya’s twice on our trips. Very sad news. That being said, they’ve worked so hard for so long, they truly deserve it.
:(

Next to Le Select - 1949, they were the oldest continuously owned and operated restaurant. At least I think so. Le Repaire may come in next in line. I feel like we have played this game a few times before

Finis. 38 years. What can one say! It has been an incredible run . . . and of enormous consequence for me in friendship & fine dining.

Dennis, we feel your pain. Maya’s was iconic IMHO. A painful loss, but, understand their decision. All good things come come to an end eventually. Many memories made there since ‘96 for us. I did shed tears when I realized the closing is real. We sadly can’t get back until next Spring. God bless Maya and Randy. We wish them every happiness. Not sure if they are on this Forum, but if they are, we send them our deepest thanks for the amazing part they have played in the fabric and experience that is St. Barth. They will be very sorely missed.

Gayle . . . I’ve already shared your note with Randy! He & Maya, in their style, have decided to exit with a last evening, sans fanfare. Your thoughtful sentiment is acknowledged with appreciation.

If this is true Dennis can you also share a note from us...Maya’s was always twice on our list for past 30 years...their elegance and simplicity in the culinary delights we enjoyed with them were superb, and Randy and Maya always made us feel like we were dining at their home...we will miss them and wish them well..

From the island grapevine, both Maya's and Maya's to go were sold to Eden Rock. This is island grapevine news only, not from the source. Maya's to go will close July 15. very sad indeed.

Grapevine we hear is Pascal is involved- creating Peruvian- Latino- Mexican style establishment.
We will see.
The setting will remain beautiful though!

Oops meant 30 years, always miss, lets see 91,01,11,21 that makes 30. 91 was our first time on the island for 6 days now we are up to (per pandemic) 63 days
