Mamo

I have not eaten at Mamo but plan to do so in May. The food aside, the interior of the restaurant doesn't look like a FWI location. Am I just not seeing the whole place?

Obviously the food is the most important piece - but the ambiance isn't to be ignored either. It's very pretty, or appears to be, and looks quite "fancy." I think that's what I mean by - not very FWI. But that's the question really . . . .

The restaurant interior captures, I believe, the elegant style of a high-end Northern Italian restaurant. You're correct . . . it has nothing to do with French West Indies decor. Regarding food . . . do a "Search" of Mamo -- I and others have written extensively about it.

Like most SBH restaurants these days, Mamo has no direct links to FWI culture.
Côte d’Azur rather.
It’s very nice and very chic.
But may not be what you’re looking for 🤷‍♂️

trying to reflect upon which restaurants, other than Eddy's, exude an FWI influence. maybe GdS ? others ?

I now Cass might disagree but what about Lesprit? Or Unicorn on Saline Rd.

Also, St Barth itself is not really 100% FWI as for instance, Guadalupe or Martinique are. St Barth is in its own category for many years

Excellent answers and all good points. I know the food is extraordinary and I appreciate the responses on the decor! I think I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing some aspect of the experience!
