I don't believe that the "wrinkle" has ever been experienced by a Forum member. That is a very good thing! We signed up with Medjet last year and noticed the wrinkle. Still unresolved is I saw Sint Maarten on the list, but not St Martin. Will the SBH hospital refer you to the dutch side or does one need to travel to Guadeloupe, which Medjet does support?
Another “wrinkle” is they won’t accept anyone 85 or older.Medjet is favored by most here. One wrinkle with SBH is they only airlift from a validated hospital with jet capabilities. One would need to get admitted in St. Martin or other places, to utilize the return home feature.
Good point Andy…some of us age out and no longer will qualify for Medjet.Another “wrinkle” is they won’t accept anyone 85 or older.
Emergency medical care also.Is OP only concerned with medical evacuation or also emergency medical care ?
Traveling to & being part of the SBH community at 85 & older is a thought that holds hope & anticipation for me!Another “wrinkle” is they won’t accept anyone 85 or older.
My motto is if I can do something today; I will be able to do it tomorrow. Our first trip was 1986. Second trip was our honeymoon in 87’. Traveled elsewhere from 1992-2007. Back every year since 2008. Last 3 years twice a year. Just back from our February SB trip and heading to Japan next month. Age is just a number. Our newest motto, as long as we’re vertical, we will keep moving. Best to all.
Hawke, I say from your mouth to God's ears.My motto is if I can do something today; I will be able to do it tomorrow.
Phil; that was the joke every time my crew was installing sod.My mantra, "green side up".

Most decent travel insurance policies from reputable companies cover emergency medical and dental care. You need to know the cash prices for the probable treatments in SBH or your other destinations, to choose the limit(s) when you are buying the policies. Usually, you pay the doctor/hospital if you need the treatment and then send the receipts with the claims to the insurance carrier. Also, the good idea is (which Covid taught us) to make sure you have good travel delay coverage to cover potential serious illness on the island. It's not prohibitively expensive but not many carriers offer the amount that I consider adequate, something like 7K (if I am not mistaken)Emergency medical care also.
I have looked up reviews on most of the recommended companies that have amazing reviews on how easy it is to take out a policy. However looking at the people who have had to claim, most of the reviews are awful. The premiums are a crazy price too.. one of us has a few conditions to enter but is very fit to travel and I am shocked at the prices and battles people have to get a payout,, it kind of ruins booking a holiday abroad nowMost decent travel insurance policies from reputable companies cover emergency medical and dental care.
