Lunch Beach Picnic

The usual for us is rented chairs and an umbrella. And a packed lunch.
We always go to the chairs to the right past Pearl Beach, in Jean Michel’s Carib Waterplay.
Best way to supplement your beach lunch with a few planteurs and mayb the best frites on the island, from Pearl Beach.
But there are a million other options.

No picnic tables on beaches...pack your cooler with supplies and bring chairs and umbrella that either your villa provides or rent and find your beach...you can’t go wrong

We end up having picnics on Colombier and Saline the most. Both are undeveloped and a bit of a walk to get to.
No need for a picnic table, just eat on the sand then jump in the sea.

Someone on here turned us on to the Ice Mule. Easy to carry cross body and holds a bottle of wine or a few Caribs very well.

Lots of folks déjeuner at le grain de sel after à morning of sunning at saline. Maybe ti’corail at gcds.
Where else is good in your maillot de bain close to the beach ?

Love Grain de Sel too. We hit Saline as many times as we can (as long as it's not windy!)

You need a little more than your maillot de bain but Santa Fe combines well with Gouverneur.

Getting croissants and coffee at Columbier bakery then heading to Flamands. Yes even though we have a villa up in the hills of St. Jean we rent chairs from Jean Michele as well next to Pearl for the 2 weeks we are visiting. First day we need to be careful of the sun so ordering sandwiches locally along with wine for me and a banana daiquiri from Pearl or Eden Roc for Cheryl and sitting on the beach at St. Jean…life is good. We have lunched on beaches at Goveneur, Saline and we even bought a bagget cheese and wine while we sat on a bench at Gustavia harbor, St.Barth has so many wonderful experiences. Enjoy

My wife and I will be there for 16d in April. Our daughter and her two children(12, 10) will be there for a few days around Easter.
Thinking about renting the chairs at Jean Michel’s Carib Waterplay for 2-3 hrs on afternoon( Is the charge for the whole day? Can one reserve a day or so ahead or is that overkill?). Can one also rent snorkeling equipment there? If not, advice for that? TIA.

When we first emigrated from SXM and Cupecoy Beach over to SB some 20 or 25 years ago we used our “Heineken Umbrella” for beach shade for a number of years… however it eventually succumbed to rust and the 20-25 mph winds of Saline and Gouveneur and so did subsequent Heineken umbrellas. We have since upgraded to the “Telebrella” (website Shade USA) which does not rust, and with cord & plastic stakes stays in place in even heavy winds. Fits in our suitcase (24” x 6”) along with our compact beach chairs. Compact and light weight. I have no connection with this company —- it’s just a great product I am really happy with. Cant imagine doing a Beach Lunch without our umbrella and chairs. And they basically have paid for themselves after Year #1.

I do see some tables in Toiny when I look at the view out from Villa Luffy. I don't have first hand knowledge, but they are there in the pictures. Just bring heavy plates, cups, etc. as that is a windy spot!

Yep, we also have had a telebrella for several years now. We have another umbrella stashed with our villa but we never leave home without our telebrella!!!

When Cheryl & I honeymooned here in 1987 we were the only people picking up luggage that had our own beach umbrella on the belt.

Back in the day we always had a carry on boogie board. Stored it up in the SBC cockpit

Years ago we brought our own beach chairs down. Checked them with American and Tradewind put them in back of plane. Our villa owner lets us store them in the villa in the pool equipment room. We are able to set up our lunch beach picnic wherever.
5 days and counting...starting to tingle!!!!!
