This is our third trip to to island this year with a total of 34 yrs so far. Some of our favorites are gone for good so these are what I have so far, looking for 2 dinner spots.

Lunch:
Sand Bar
Toiny Beach club
Nikki Beach
Select
La Repaire

Dinner:
L Esprit first time
L Isola
Casina
Need 2 more
Possible Eddys and Mamo. Tamarin is a hard NO. Grain De Sel? Cream sounds very interesting but no menu posted yet.

Suggestions?

Lunches are covered. Looking for more upscale. Le Toiny is another option. We did the rehearsal dinner there for the April wedding.

“Upscale” is so readily available . . . I know it well, but I have the luxury of being on the island about six months/year & have been part of SBH for nearly 50 years. It means that I can choose — as can “locals” — daily from the enormous variety available.

In this regard, I have favorite “upscale” restaurants & frequent them. For an infrequent visitor, however, I encourage visits to local venues as a means of really knowing the culture & legacy of the island. After all, “upscale” is available in every city — & many towns — the world-over. SBH offers rare opportunity to experience, even today, a semblance of “old St. Barths.” My recommendation is to seek & include a few venues that will expose you to the culture that attracted so many people before invasion of “Barbarians at the Gate” . . . by which I mean to describe an influx of people — particularly those who were flush with cash of large Wall Street bonuses — that I recall starting about 1988.

There’s much in culinary-SBH that isn’t ”upscale.” I hope that it will survive the current “St. Tropez-ization” of the local dining scene.

I'd be interested in "...My recommendation is to seek & include a few venues that will expose you to the culture that attracted so many people before invasion..." What are a few you would include?

Numerous other options . . . curious as to which ones.
I subsequently mentioned two: La Langosteria and Zuma. There's also the new Kinugawa in Saint-Jean, right ?

Plus, there are others we haven't personally tried but that may be of interest to some . . . especially folks looking for more of a young/jetsetter scene.

Agree, the invasion is doing away with the "old" St Barths. Still support Eddys, La Repaire and Select. Miss the old Les Bananiers; best tuna tartare ever. La Mandela for the coconut curry shrimp and Adams Vincent for the nightly specials. Santa Fe for all items.

Curious . . . what holds you back from going there — classifying it on the “maybe list?”
I'm curious as well. We've just been twice, but welcomed a well-done, chic newcomer to the dining scene.
But then, Eddy's, Select, Le Repaire, Santa Fe, Bananiers, etc were never our bag.

I love Black Ginger, as I've mentioned before, it is always consistently delicious and doesn't get enough love here on the forum! I also love Papillon Ivre for a very French experience and great wine selection. My only complaint there is that sometimes it can be very hot in the outside courtyard setting.
