L'Isola?

We have been visiting since 2012 and never dined at L'Isola and I really don't find much about it on here. We have enough very good Italian restaurants in PIttsburgh that I don't need to seek it out in St. Barts. However, my beloved wants to go this year and I ask is it really good? Thanks

It's our #1 favorite. For cuisine, ambiance, vibe, scene, people watching, etc
Similarly to Tamarin, the ladies make a special effort there to look their best
IMHO even in big cities it's difficult to find the complete package that L'Isola offers
Cass, we ALWAYS make an effort 😂!! We had a wonderful dinner with the royal A&P there with really good wine so I hope everyone will have as good a time there as we did🥰

I ate at eddy's last night, it was packed as usual for a saturday. as we drove out of town, we passed l'isola and looks like they no longer have valet parking. parking last night was crazy with the jazz band at the church etc. you would think things would have died down a little, but I don't see it. I also went to Eden Rock for lunch on thursday, I was thinking it won't be crowded as its thursday. I made reservations the day before anyway. when I arrived around noon, people were already seated and it was busy, a full house by the time I left. asked one of the bartenders why so crowded, he said the cruise ship people are coming now, taking a taxi from the docks and having lunch there. hmmm

I drove into Gustavia around 8:30 - 9:00 maybe? trying to get to Bonito. It was a mob scene. The traffic was at a standstill. And then finding a parking spot was insane (I have an issue with paying for valet at Bonito.). I found a spot, but it was not easy. Good thing I learned how to parallel park in Brooklyn.

25 €

I mean, maybe it's not that much money. But after a while, it just feels like you're bleeding money, and I would rather spend it elsewhere.

cool - we're on the same page. I would rather go to the market and spend it on goodies to take home! (which is exactly what I did. all those delicious Bonne Maman cookies are in my kitchen now.)

A few years ago, I bought this coconut oil in the market in Corossol. I have never seen it elsewhere. I am down to the last quarter of the bottle. I wanted to replenish it but never made it to Corossol. I would rather spend $30 on someone buying it for the few shekels it cost and then sending it to me and reimbursing them for the postage. (hint hint).

Looks like that will be us tomorrow..first (in 30 years will be the last time) on a Caribbean cruise “yacht” as we were told SeaDream is not “cruising”..Vincent made us a reservation last week at ER and now I will have to admit that DD was correct🙄🙄🙄 to just take taxis ( have never needed one)
Hope we can get them as needed from the cruise port where we come in..not sure where they drop us? Probably where the ferry comes in?
