LE SELECT'S 75TH BIRTHDAY

Does anyone know if Le Select is going to acknowledge its 75th birthday? In the past there would be a simple celebration with a nice gathering enjoying cake and champagne in the late morning. Followed with the anticipation of...."is Jimmy" going to make an appearance later. Sadly, we all are aware that two very special people ( Marius and Jimmy) will not be present but just the same, we would be glad to attend and raise a glass to Le Select and Marius. Is anything happening on its special day?

Wow! Love that photo! It really takes me back to the SBH I knew and loved so much.

Seeing this photo inspired me to pull out my copy of Paradise Found by Robert and Kara Brooks. What a gem of a book that captures a place in time that I treasure dearly. I especially enjoyed the passage on page 42 with the picture of Eddy and Marius sitting together. It goes on to describe how Eddy created the first cheeseburgers at Le Select and says he netted $15,000 during Regatta Week and shut down the stand and took the year off because "He knew he could live very happily on St Barths on $15,000 a year..."
Those really were the days!
