Le Select 60th at Le Manapany

My wife and I are heading down for the Le Select 60th for 4 nights and have tentatively booked a room at Le Manapany. The price via Orbitz for a Junior Oceanview Suite was almost too good to be true, hence some trepidation on my part. Anyone stayed there recently or have any other suggestions? My wife likes to be on the beach, so I'm not sure a hillside villa is my best bet...at least if I'm sticking to the Happy Wife/Happy Life philosphy...many thanks in advance.

Nickster,

Never much mention of the Manapany as a hotel on this site, only comments about the restaurant. I was reading Manapany reviews on Tripadvisor just yesterday and recent reviews are very positive. I belive there are also a few pictures posted by recent visitors.

The beach there is rocky and not very swimmable from what I've read. The view looks fabulous though.

Jeanette,

Thanks for the quick response. We're from Northern Michigan, so we're used to rocky beaches at Lake Michigan and so long as the water is warmer than 65, we'll be happy... I'll take a look at Tripadvisor and see what others have to say.

some of the reviews are now saying its like it was when it was one of the darlings of the island...

if thats the case it will be good

we were regular guests there a long time ago and it was a very nice place to stay...separate little bungalows...a great pool bar..and yes a rocky beach but so what...

Although Anse de Cayes is generally rocky, Manapany keeps a nice white beach with plenty of chaises and it has a lovely pool and jacuzzi. The bar used to be a great gathering place by the pool and Sunday Brunch Buffets are good.I haven't seen the rooms in years, but the outdoor areas are very pleasant and pretty.

I stayed at Manapany several years ago, and I was impressed with the rooms. I don't recall much of a view from the room, and not much beach to speak of. But for accomodations, it was better than expected.
