I’ve moved my gardening a bit further north to Montréal. This time accompanied by my lovely wife. On our first night we went to an old favorite, Liverpool House. It used to look like you walked into a nicely jumbled antique store. Now it’s been modernized and cleaned up for a more upscale crowd. Sounds like some place further south? It was pouring rain and in the low 60s and the hostess led us to the covered patio and seated us right next to this.

Could not have been a more cozy spot. The somm selected this wine for us. Given the CAD/USD exchange rate it was quite the bargain. The lovely wife approved the almost as lovely wine.

Had a selection of oysters and tuna crudo to starter. Oysters maybe one of our most favorite things.

For my main an unusual combination of chicken and clams on summer succotash. The chicken and clams were good but that succotash was amazing. Bursting with that late summer flavor.

For the lovely wife, fletan- halibut served with a salad almost nicoise like.

For dessert corn cake in a butter sugar sauce with tiny tart toothsome blueberries. Like the fruit should be instead of the giant marble sized flavorless things we get in NY. Only remembered to take a picture halfway through.

A great first meal back in one of our other favorite places.
