La Guerite -- former location of "The Wall House Restaurant"

Bart, I wouldn't be surprised to find that they ran into unexpected problems, both on site and with equipment/material shipments from Europe. You find unexpected things when you start opening up walls ("field conditions"), and trans-oceanic shipping can wreak havoc on a schedule.

Looked up the translation of 'la guerite'- the sentry box or the workman's hut. Someone help me understand the restaurant as I am not a French speaker.

Mediterranean" food . . . tentatively planned to open December 6. Renovations are transforming the space, I think, into a lovely, smooth flowing room (as opposed to the sense of two rooms that used to exist).

Hi, La Guerite is the name of a small fisherman's house. And for those who care, don't worry, the restaurant will be open on time.

"Tentatively" being the key word.

"On time" being undefined.

I had reason to be in that area 3 different times today. I do not know the principles here but I can tell you there weren't 3 hour lunch breaks happening. My guess was 15 guys actually working so hopefully they will make their opening date. kr

Skand, Welcome to the forum! And thanks for setting us straight on the name and opening schedule.

They did it! La Guérite was in business last night. The photos on Pascal's FB page show a full house, perhaps a "soft opening" prior to tonight's Grand Opening. Here's one from his page showing the finished restaurant:

Last night was a "family and friends" soft opening and from what I hear they did particularly well. I can attest to the exceptional quality of the products they are buying, wow these guys are not messing around. Let's hope the feedback they get from it is equaly exceptional

Hello Jordan. Thanks for being there and for sharing your enthusiasm with the forum.

We have been through several dreams of Pascal's on his quest for a hit restaurant on St BARTH. This could be the BIG ONE,

Good luck, Pascal and team.

Were you there? Doesn't sound like it.
