L’Esprit dinner . . . and Eddy’s summer closing

How many here remember a song of The Four Seasons. . . “Oh What A Night!”
Oh, what a night
. . . back in sixty three
What a very special time for me
As I remember, what a night

Tonight is one of those times as I began the evening at Eddy’s to wish Bonnes Vacances to my buddies there . . . sweet & charming hostess Chloe, forever my caretakers, waiter Benoit & bartender Tad, Chef Franck , & friend since I came to know him, Mahé, & his sister (as they — barely more than infants — slept on a small platform bed at the end of the bar), as parents Eddy & Brigitte launched “Eddy’s Restaurant,” after the enormously successful run of nearby “Eddy’s Ghetto.” It was only 7 PM & the restaurant already was nearly filled.

With numerous hugs & fond wishes -- and toasts of Ti Punch (rhum vieux avec glacons) — I headed to my L’Esprit dinner engagement with dadto6 & family. A bit tardy in arriving, as I often endeavor to squeeze a lot into limited time, I was blessed: In an already packed (80 diners!) restaurant, with dinner (beef carpaccio in lemon juice & olive oil with chopped cabbage & roasted duck breast) & my favorite cocktail, waiting for me (host Tof, knowing my GF & DF limitations, anticipated my arrival & slipped an order into the kitchen, overflowing with orders of other guests, so that I could catch-up with my dinner companions).

Oh What A Night! Forever memorable.
