KONA'S SWIMMING MILESTONE

Today marks my husband's swimming achievement of reaching 10,000 kilometers by doing his laps in St. Jean Baie. He was joined in celebrating with his lemon shark friend who had yet to turn up this season but was around a lot last year. Shark is about 5 feet long and has apparently fattened up this year. Water has been pretty rough the last 2 months but Kona still goes out every day. I am liking the pool!

Congratulations to Kona!!!

I tried to see him swimming early mornings with binoculars from our villa when we were
on the island a bit ago, as I marvel at his
endeavor!

I love ocean swimming but do not have the courage to try long distance ocean swimming.
I swim vicariously through him.

Thanks for the milestone update, Reed!

In addition to the usual here’s to good health and friends, I will add “and also to Kona’s accomplishment” when toasting today.

 to you, Kona

For those of us metric-ally challenged and unable to envision 10,000 Km, I looked up on google maps and found that it is almost exactly the distance from St Barth to Tahiti, if one swam through the Panama canal, or round trip St Barth to the coast of Africa. Either way, that's a lot of swimming.

Kona and I thank you for all the positive words of encouragement. His commitment is amazing but is makes it easier doing what you love doing!

Saw Kona out there every morning last week while Anita and I were enjoying early morning swims
