It always amazes me that storms thousands of miles away cause rough surf on our beach here in Long Island, NY. It happens every August.

I’m told that the heavy presence of “Sahara Sands” in the air has suppressed normal development of regional tropical storms. It also was interesting to read an AI report of the impact of Sahara Sands on proliferation of sargassum:
“. . . the iron and phosphorus delivered by the Saharan dust act as a natural fertilizer. This nutrient influx is a primary contributor to the massive Sargassum seaweed blooms that have severely affected the beaches of St. Barts throughout 2026.”

Apparently we are having a super El Niño, which is a tropical storm killer
