Issues calling St. Barths from the US

We are having issues calling St. Barths from our cell phones in the US. We have ATT and have the international calling plan. When we call we get a busy signal. We are able to call other countries with no issue including France. The ATT rep has no idea what is happening, and we never had this issue before.

Any ideas?

On a cell phone, an SBH landline is +590 590 xxxxxx and a cellphone is +590 690 xxxxxx. Is that the format that you are using?

Sometimes the circuits are just busy. I had the same problem just now. Fast busy.

We have been getting the fast busy signal for the last two weeks.
Did you just try calling from your cell phone? Do you have ATT? Trying to figure out if its ATT or something else.

Amy, I had a pink princess phone in my bedroom growing up! My dad got it for me because when he was traveling and tried calling home the line was always busy!! Sorry - not hijacking the thread, but just brought back a silly memory circa 1972.

We dont have a landline, and I want to make sure that we are able to make calls with our cell phone when we are there!

Ha, we're on the island, and strangely none of our texts are getting back to the US. Fine to anyone here, though. And I literally just got a ping for a voice mail from my brother...which he left 76 hours ago! Ah, paradise...!

However

SOME 20 years ago on August 14th, NYC HAD A BLACKOUT. That same day, our grandson DAVID was born! After a brief welcome to the world visit, we found Getting around the dark city without street and traffic lights somewhat of a challenge. Of course, cell service was near impossible. But safely back on Long Island, My kitchen landline was working and I was able to make calls and proudly announce David’s birth. The hospital generators were working, so we were the important communications link at that time with the family.
