Inexpensive Villa Cote Sauvage or CEC

This title says it all. We are looking for a less expensive villa for a family of five, with kids aging 9-13. Does anyone have any thoughts on cote sauvage? Or case et cuisine? Or any suggestions for a different villa? It’s somewhat last minute. We want to travel the beginning of April

CEC is owned by someone who frequents this forum multiple times per day( username cec1 I believe). You could probably message the owner directly on this forum if you like and ask him any questions. I have never spoken to him or met him in person, but he seems like a really good guy. It generally gets good reviews by people who frequent this forum and appears to be an economical choice.

I have only looked at the Cote Sauvage posting based solely on this inquiry. It would seems like CEC is a bit closer to civilization (maybe not what you are looking for) as Sauvage is about as far away from Gustavia as you can get (maybe you could go out a little further.... but it's pretty far away)..... but it does look nice.

CEC is a lovely villa. We have not stayed (although a definite contender for a next visit). When we were on island a few years back, we messaged Mr. CEC(Dennis) for a tour of the villa and he graciously coordinated. Again, the villa is lovely with a terrific pool (definitely family friendly) and across the street from a pleasant beach. I would definitely recommend Villa CEC for a family. MDC.

I have rented CEC for my son and daughter-in-law upcoming 25th wedding anniversary. I have been through the home several times and it is very nice and extremely well priced and in impeccable condition IMHO.

I stayed at Cote Sauvage several years ago with my family. I rented through Corcoran, it is very nice but as steelpe states, it is way out there on Grand Fond.

Good luck with your upcoming visit to St. Barth.

Thank you, stephchristian, for your interest in Villa Case et Cuisine (villacec.com) and to others for your kind comments! The Villa is named after a book of vintage SBH photos & commentary that I published with friends a number of years ago. My wife & I strive to make it as comfortable for guests as it is for us . . . definitely an unpretentious, but comfortably gracious “home away from home!” We also work hard — as most SBH rental villa owners do — to maintain it in an aesthetically pleasing, refined, and discerning style . . . at an affordable price. Please send a note by PM on the Forum or to dec@carltonjax.com if I may give you any more input.

Villa CEC is the best! The owners are lovely, gracious, caring people with refined taste and have created a nice modern feel while keeping old French elements to add charm. The experience will be one of the best. It is a quick hop to the restaurants and beaches.
When our boys were here at those ages, each day they swam like fish and surfed for hours (our other home is in San Diego so surfing is big) so the kids were in the water all of the time. They love it here. They are grown now and we have grandchildren, and still they visit!

St. Barts is a great place, and Villa CEC is the place to stay IMHO.

You could not rent from a nicer person when you rent from Dennis, and CEC is in our normal 'hood! It is easy to drive to L'Oasis for your shopping and local Pizza needs, too, such as Bouchon, if you need an emergency Pizza 😁 . I love their pool at CEC and it is very protected from the elements and swimming at night when it is all lit up would be a special treat for kids; a lovely place to have dinner by the pool, too! Dennis is a font of information and connections on the island and the view from the front of the house is very beautiful as well. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Merci beaucoup, Gina!

Oh yeah, I forgot to add in Brin d'Île in the gas station shopping strip in case you have an emergency need for shoes and purses...just sayin', another good reason to rent from Dennis 😁. (And don't blame me; this is all Kevin's fault..he made me buy all those loafers and sandals!)
