Improvements at La Tourmont

Road work is progressing all across the island with significant changes to the roundabout. Pics from yesterday.

What exactly are they doing? Just making the roadway nicer, or changing the layout and traffic flow in some way?

Just new underground infrastructure, new concrete roads, new sidewalks, new landscaping and stone work. Really amazing work! The only downside I see is every time the roads grow few inches the trucks and SUV's seem to grow a few feet.

Arrived today and the roadwork indeed looks amazing. For the moment though one must detour through Corossol to get to points west (i.e. Flamands). Heading east is fine (one-way). Also looks like they are also doing some major water line replacement.

I remember watching last year’s traffic buildup on the road between La Tourment and L’Oeuf via an airport webcam. It wasn’t pretty.
