Hotel Carl Gustaf in St Barths Gets New Management
Château Élan Hotels & Resorts takes over management for the property which is set to reopen in November.

The Hotel Carl Gustaf, one of St Barths’ most well known luxury hotels, has hired Atlanta-based Château Élan Hotels & Resorts to manage the marketing and sales for the hotel. The hotel will be closed through the summer and re-open on November 6 while the staff is trained and reservation systems are readied for the re-opening.
On the heels of two years of substantial renovations, additions and upgrades, The Hotel Carl Gustaf felt that it was time to increase its exposure in the North American market, and streamline their back-of-the-house operations. With over 30 years of experience in hotel marketing and management, Château Élan Hotels & Resorts suited Hotel Carl Gustaf’s needs perfectly, and the agreement was made in November 2009.

Over the past two years, the Carl Gustaf has added the new 1,600 sq-ft Boutique Spa by Carita with a Hydro Zone that includes oil-essence infused showers and steam rooms, an outdoor relaxation area, two treatment rooms (including one for couples) an outdoor Jacuzzi.
Also recently unveiled (yet little-known due to the temporary closure of the hotel shortly after its completion) is the new 2,600 sq-ft four-bedroom Royal Suite with its own secluded entrance, multiple terraces, and pool overlooking Gustavia Harbor. The fully-equipped kitchen and large dining area overlooking the Harbor are perfect for dinner parties (a private chef can be arranged), and the Suite’s massive patio is the perfect setting for destination weddings, vow renewals, cocktail parties or just relaxing with a Sundowner.
