IMHO. If only on SBH for a day, a week, or a few weeks. Anything on the menu is healthy and good. Ohhh yes, I love those office cafeterias. And then, sitting outside on a street corner with that boring weather. Catching up with "Dad" just tops off a good lunch stop.

Finish your beer, then bag LeSelect (better views/healthier air too, Andy) to Santa Fe for the island's best fresh Nicosie Salad---Chef Emmanuel uses nothing out of a can---even my Doc approved.

CHDM - as you've probably noticed on this forum some folks get way "off track"! In response to your question about beach chairs -- many villas have some you can use & carry to the beach -- which ever beach you go to and you should check out as many as possible (as you can see some folks have very strong opinions on that!). If you don't see any - ask the maid if there are any available - sometimes they are just stored away. If the villa does not have chairs for you to borrow - there is a shop in St. Jean across the road from Nikki's that rents and sells beach chairs and umbrellas. I think you will find that purchasing one - even though it may be 25 Euros - will be the most economical solution. Re: reasonably priced (relatively speaking!) villas & hotels are there - you just need to do a little research on the internet & this forum to get some suggestions. Libby

speaking of Santa Fe... a bunch of us are going there to watch the SuperBowl. Should we plan on arriving a little early (say 6:10) to watch the sunset? I'm thinking that Santa Fe would be a good sunset-spot but since I've never been there I'm not sure. Anyone have advice on this?

The salads are very fresh.You can also order fresh fish, chicken, steak or fishburger.You can substitute a side salad for pommes frite.Mixed drinks are extremely reasonable.One day a lady at the table next to me was enjoying her fresh fish with a beurre blanc sauce.She complemented Marius, and it did look very good.My friend Sophie at the Mephisto Shop always orders the salad.In december, we were impressed that the tomatoes at Select were better than the ones in the La Plage salad.Juices are available as well as red, white or rose wine.
