Hello Floridian Forum Friends

Hi gang of mine. We are fine. Two hurricanes In two months..we are officially Floridians. Sarasota took another big hit. Our apartment overlooks Sarasota Bay and two sailboats broke free of their moorings and are beached at a nearby waterfront park. So sad to see.

We were prepared….a Girl Scout and her Eagle Scout big guy had food, water and wine. We had flashlights, candles and wine. We had a fresh stash of peanut butter and jelly too. Did I mention wine yet?

Some streets still closed. Some flooding in lowest spots. Note: Florida has hills, not mountains so most of it is low lands. However we are safe on the 18th floor. Our car is ina spot about ten feet above the ground so it should be fine. Have not ventured out yet.

Thanks friends for your prayers and thoughtful messages.

Missing you.

Stay safe Amy and Phil. I have left the land of my youth and traded it for what is currently cool gloomy wet New York City with really cold weather around the corner. I think I still prefer always warm with a chance of big storms.

Thanks, Mike.Yes we are happy with this Sarasota home. Good to be warm. The wet will take some getting used to however.

Live on the water they said, it'll be fun !

Flooded with seawater in the surge. And the mud. don't forget the mud. Insured , so we'll see how that works out. Soon as the dust settles, a for sale sign is in my yard's future.

We are happy renters, Martin. Being on the 18th floor an advantage too.

I'm sorry to hear of Martin's and Ron and Kathy's flooding. I was safely in Europe for Helene, and got home to no damage. Sitting here now waiting for Milton to show his ugly head! I hope that you guys have evacuated for this one.

Stay strong Sarasota peeps, this one's going to be ugly!
