Oh lord yeah.things are much more efficient in FL than in NY for sure….
Had 7 visits to the DMV in California when we first moved here..not to mention the $4k check I had to write when I brought my car out…Oh lord yeah.
I was very, very pleasantly surprised to find functional State agencies + courteous employees.
Not at all like the DMV in Manhattan on 34th st.LOL
. . . and Milton's looking like another doozy! With JAX in its path. UGH!And here we go again. We are getting to be SARASOTA STRONG in a hurry.
Fingers crossed for you. Wishing you much better days in a beautiful part of the country. We were on the far right edge of the cone here in SC nr Hilton Head & Savannah & had 75 mph winds clocked here in Bluffton & verified 3 tornados touched down, 1 nr Palmetto Bluff. Amazing that as far east of the cone as we were that we had what we had, also in & out of numerous tornado watches then warnings thru out the day & night by tv, weather radio & phone alerts. Fortunately no damage or power outages for our community yet Savannah hit hard & other parts of the lowcountry of SC. Based on current cone for Milton, we're on the ege again. Unsettling. Other parts of our state & NC, especially around Asheville, heartbreaking up there. Many here have been to that area with collected donations still ongoing.
I don’t know how I missed this post about your relocation, but we live in Englewood.Stay Florida strong people!

A powerful storm and sadly there will be deaths reported from all over our new home state. Damages can be repaired, but life is precious.

Ricky, I am guessing it will be repaired and made as good as new. Houses and cars can usually get fixed or replaced. People matter.RickyG reported in on IG with minor wind damages.
We were wondering about you and Phil and relieved you chose to live in a high rise. We returned last night after a 3-day mandatory evacuation with power on and working elevators. We stayed in place for Helene, but didn't feel safe staying on the water in Tampa during Milton. We traded hurricanes for tornadoes in West Palm Beach during our evacuation. It's been a lousy few weeks in Florida and I am hoping the worst is over for all of us. On a brighter note, the weather today is glorious. We made it. A tough adventure, but we made it. Life is good.
