This Tuesday, May 6, the President of the Collectivité, Xavier Lédée, presided over the official reception of the work on the Espace Rockefeller, in Gustavia, alongside elected officials Hélène Bernier, Bettina Cointre, Alexandra Questel, David Blanchard, Fabrice Querrard, Mélissa Lake, and Romaric Magras.

Completed between 2020 and 2025, this ambitious project – initiated under Mr. Bruno Magras’s term – profoundly transforms a strategic location in the city center.

In the presence of association presidents, fishermen, companies involved in the construction site, the architectural firm Lotus Architectes, and the administrative staff involved, this reception marks an important step in enhancing our living environment.

New features include:

• A secure, multifunctional, and aesthetically pleasing reflecting pool

• A modern fish market for direct sales

• A future space for local associations, currently being finalized

• 20 parking spaces created

Espace Rockefeller is establishing itself as a new public space, open, vibrant, and in keeping with the island identity of Saint Barthélemy.

The official opening ceremony will take place following the completion of the outdoor spaces, which will feature works of art.
