Today is my 76th birthday. While there is no place I'd rather be than St. Barth to celebrate, I do often of late ask myself if it's time to hang up my fins and leave the sometimes strenuous trips down below to the younger set. But no so fast, says fellow septuagenarian Arnold Schwarzenegger. "Keep going forward" he says. 93 year old Clint Eastwood advises "don't let the old man in." "Challenge yourself," another old sage advises. "Do these two things each year: do something that you have only a 50 percent chance of completing, and don't die!" So with these ideas in mind, it was back down I went this morning to visit an old friend, the Non Stop wreck, lying upside down not far from Gustavia harbor, at about 50 ft. deep. We swam around the reef first, full of large sponges and lobsters, then we visited the wreck. There was a current, so we had to work to get around, consuming air fast and shortening the dive to 36 minutes. Here are a few photos from the adventure.
