Free conference: "In the footsteps of the Amerindian populations of Saint-Barthélemy in the Bay of Saint-Jean: the first results of preventive archaeological excavations."

Location: Captaincy Hall in Gustavia

Date: Friday, June 16, 2023

Schedule: 6:00 p.m.

The European Archaeology Day, which will take place on Friday, June 16, will be an opportunity to present to the inhabitants of Saint-Barthélemy the first results of the discoveries made on the two contiguous plots excavated in the Bay of Saint-Jean.

Located on a sandy coastal cordon on the north coast of the island of Saint-Barthélemy, the preventive archaeological excavations carried out allowed archaeologists to study some of the oldest traces of pre-Columbian occupation found to date on the island.
The Saint-Barth Heritage Association invites

you to come and meet Ms. Nathalie Sellier-

Segard, the archaeologist of the INRAP

responsible for the archaeological excavations

that took place in September-October 2022.
