FORT OSCAR OPEN HOUSE FOR THE BUCKET

elgreaux

Senior Insider
On Sunday, March 28, Fort Oscar in Gustavia will be open from 8am to 6pm and offers a great spot to watch the start and finish of the final St Barth Bucket regatta this year.
This open house has been organized by the Gendarmerie, SNSM Rescue-At-Sea, and the Collectivity of Saint Barth, and includes a snack bar with sandwiches and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as the sale of items to benefit the SNSM. Free to the general public, and a great way to admire the fabulous sailing yachts in the Bucket as well as visit the historic fort.

JEK: a map?

merci! And the fort, which was closed to the public for many years when it was a French espionage center, or so they say, is now the Gendarmerie... worth a visit!

...and a nice way to view the facilities sans handcuffs or the need for an attorney!!!

thanks for alerting us to this great opportunity, ellen!!!

As some may know. I collect T-shirts. Simple memories of great times while on the water AND, I wear them all the time (yeah, some of them give our friends the bends. I was there and remember. Poifect.)

If anyone can snag a SNSM or gendarmerie shirt and let me know on getting those back to the soggy midwest. Please. Thank you.

Oh, I've been known to wear polo shirts too.

Always loose, respectful of all and hangin' in there.

Damn. I could get some style points on the docks up north with this ( :p  )
