Has anyone on the forum had a good experience having a meal delivered via a food delivery service on the island? Appreciate any feedback you have.

Unfortunately, my wife came down with COVID during our stay last Thanksgiving , so we had to quarantine for a few days. Delifood Island worked well for ordering from a variety of restaurants, so we still ate well. Not super fast, but very dependable. The Paxlovid helped, too. :)

Thanks, Amy.
Rosita, villa owner extraordinaire, was wonderful, as usual. She even helped us get the Paxlovid. Quarantining on Saline also proved very therapeutic. :blush-smile:

We use Delifood as well, for shopping, not for meals generally but there are Delifood scooters all over the island so I'd say it's a popular service for delivering meals as well....

Without any street addresses I’m fascinated as to how they find remote residences tucked away in , say GCdS:cool:

They call you several times and they are often "lost" - we have odd drivers come up here with pizzas that are not ours!

Not certain, but I think they identify your location from your cell phone. They also ask for arrival instructions when you order— i.e., “Look for the red gate” (or whatever). Of the three times we used them, they got a bit lost once and had to call for additional directions. No big deal. The other times, they nailed it on their first attempt. But we were located at Villa EMM, which is just off the main road in Lorient and is easy to find. So YMMV.
I never did get any mystery pizzas, though. (Bummer)

Hi N.

Interesting.

Do you realize there is a food thread or you just promoting something?

If you have Google Maps on your phone [most do], you can share your exact location, including routing, with anyone who has a cell phone. You can also include a gate code if you have one.
