Great shot. That long villa in the picture has piqued my interest. Does anyone have any info on that villa, or the one that is perched out on the outcropping of rock all alone?

Think it's a hedge fund guy. Never seems occupied when we're here. Huge, but amazingly blends into the rocks pretty well. There is a pool half again the length of the villa off to the right ( out of the frame)

I‘ve heard rumor that it belongs to a former DB guy who left to start a well known fund. He’s about two degrees of separation.

No, the pool is much larger and a different set up. Even the entrance on the bottom of the hill looks ridiculous. The billionaires are doing quite well in general. I can almost guarantee this house isn't available for renting, at least publicly advertised.

Yup, big brown monstrosity! Mr Noam Gottesman, congrats and hopefully it will be done soon! Always so many little construction trucks in that area + small public lot...

This was an extremely well written article and the assessment for 2023 was right on. Other than the restaurants having changed, I do think the situation was comprehensively assessed but even with all that, (I only have about a 25 year "investment" as a relative 'newbie' 😊 ), the essence of Saint-Barth is still there: the view of the harbor coming in, skimming over La Tourmente, the red roofs, the view of St-Jean bay..if you feel anything less than the love you had when you first came, I think you can still find what you are looking for or loved in the past. Sometimes your "needs" are fewer, as well, at this point. I think we are very "possessive" of this island in a way that can not be erased by expensive restaurants and social media, as onerous as it is, because the people that actually live there have a commitment to keep what has always been special about Saint-Barth. And they are generous, not pretentious, people who have decided to dedicate themselves to what is able to be preserved while accepting what is the future with a healthy perspective. It is this Forum that is dedicated to them and we all are the beneficiaries of these residents, who keep the dream and the vision alive. As my dear friend, Ronda and I, always say, "People come and people go..we'll be here to turn out the lights!"

Definitely a monstrosity the several years of building it (days of ack ack ack in "our" villa down the beach), but am amazed at how it really blends into the hillside. Couple of new also large villas west of it and they definitely don't.

Have you seen the villa being built partially into the ground at the end of the road where the steps to Petit Anse are? Garage is literally built into the rocks, that is another wild one. They have like 5 separate villas on the little peninsula overlooking Flamands which used to be nothing but a few local homes.
