your speed of 39 megabits download speed isnt particularly good. its good compared to the ADSL (copper phone lines) but its comparable to the 4G network that currently exists in parts of the island already.

its likely that your speed is limited by the speed of your Wifi device and that buying a faster wifi access point (one that follows the WIFI 6 standard for instance), or, directly connecting your computer into the router with an ethernet cable will bring you much faster speeds.

the speed you have is plenty fast enough for web browsing, or watching Netflix, so its possible you dont need it to go any faster.

Thank you for the input . . . I'll check with my terrific IT "guy" to see if there's more that we should do. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the speed that we're getting and that the connection seems to be without interruption.

Dennis, I assume that means they're beyond the top of the Camaruche hill and tearing up streets now down and around to GCdS ? Preparing for sidewalks as they go, I assume ?

Fiber installation in the CEC ‘hood, Cass, seems to have started in vicinity of the Guanahani & is moving — fairly rapidly — in direction of Pte. Milou . . . trenching & laying of pipes (presumably also for putting electric cables underground) is now up the hill, going toward the Mono Shop, from the Marigot Bay beach. In the opposite direction, the pipes already must be underground because I see workers at many openings in the roadway between Grand Cul de Sac & the turn to Petite Cul de Sac . . . shoving long, fine strands of black cable into openings . . . pulling them out farther down the road.

The same scene is occurring in many places around the island . . . in a big way, for example, between the “Tournament” above the airport & the circle where the road divides to go toward Anse des Cayes & Colombier.

No sidewalks yet going in along these roads . . . a major sidewalk, however, with an attractive stone wall along the hillside, is being built on the upper road going out of Gustavia. It has almost reached the Tournament, where — I expect — it will continue down the hill to vicinity of the airport terminal.
