End of May visit - Day 6... Time to Chill!

We'd been going at it pretty hard. After a late night at Le Ti, that magnum of VC, and accumulated days in the sun, we were in need of a down day. We took an even more leisurely morning than usual and extended our time around the pool. When we finally emerged, we kept it close and stayed in the neighborhood. We decided that an early lunch at JoJo Burger would be just what the doctor ordered. The special of the day was a cheeseburger unlike any you might find in the states! I swear they had melted an entire wheel of Gruyere on top of the patty, then cut in major chunks of real bacon (none of those artificial bits) with a side of shoestring fries. The cheese oozed out onto the plate and we felt our hangovers ebbing like the tide with every bite. Perfect remedy!

Spent the afternoon snorkeling on Lorient, saw a nice sized Nurse Shark and a turtle. Happy and content to lounge in the shade of a palm watching an instructor give surfing lessons to some teens. Lorient is always so quiet and gives a nice local vibe.

For our final night Dinner, we had (once again thanks to you all on this forum) chosen Sella. In my research it looked unique and intriguing, much different than anything else we had on the itinerary this week so we wanted to give it a go. Plus it was a little off the beaten path and offered a slightly new view and area for us to explore.

Parking was limited as you approach the restaurant, but we got lucky. Again, I imagine this could be a challenge during high season. Our reservation was for 7 pm which was clearly a bit early as we had our choice of tables. We decided on a booth along the back wall facing out towards the water, which was lovely. A few more couples and then a larger party came in around and just after 8. Again the wait staff was simply fantastic, and the waitress was so attentive to us, she just charmed our socks off. She recommended the Sea Bass, laid open and seasoned in Israeli spices (?) and specially prepared with lettuce wraps, which she scooped and served to us, offering various sauces to accompany. The flavors were subtle and very good, much different (as hoped) from anything else we had tried on the island. Very enjoyable. Also, we didn't stick around for it, but apparently they have a dj come in at 9 and the place gets pretty lively according to the staff we asked about it. After Le Ti we thought it best we give that a pass. Maybe next time.

Not wanting our last night to end, we drove into Gustavia and walked about a bit, finally landing at Bar D'Oubli. Uncrowded, we took the corner table and enjoyed watching the people over at Le Select socializing and having a good time. Our waiter was on his last night, informing us he was going to work at Le Cafe since he was looking for a higher level of clientele where he could "fully utilize his skills". We found that amusing as we would've been happy had he put a smidgeon of his copious skills to use by simply bringing us a drink every so often  But we had no place to go and no rush to end our night, so we didn't care one whit.

I am happy to read you had a good time at Sella. Its doesn't get much love here but we enjoyed it too but have also decided to avoid the DJ experience and high tail it out before the music gets loud.
