Sounds like the perfect holiday lunch — everything was delicious, and that coconut cheesecake must’ve been amazing! And what a lovely surprise from the manager — definitely a lucky Monday 😊

Seems like Sand Bar used to be much more popular among forum folk than currently. False impression?
BTW is ER considered as one of the much maligned corporate establishments (Oetker) or among the beloved local places (Matthews) ?

We almost always went with the lobster salad. Good chunks in a champagne vinaigrette dressing.

I’m not really sure what it is like to stay there but all that really matters is how you are treated when you are there. There is so much turnover in the hospitality industry these days, it is hard to get consistency in employees. The places that make you valued and feel welcome will win out every time and I think this forum is really great at informing about that, especially with all the turnover and interns on an island such as SBH. Also, those that are able to have people work for them year after year really add to your enjoyment of returning. Nowadays, it is really a very expensive crapshoot if your hotel or restaurant disappoints you, so stick with people who actually care if you come back, which are many on SBH.
