Eden Rock Bar

My friends are currently on the island and informed us that Eden Rock is only serving guests at the bars. Is that true? Are the Remy and beach bars still open to the public? My husband and I especially love stopping at the Remy bar for a late night drink. Thanks in advance for any information!

if true hopefully it is only during high season. We visit in May. Love stopping in at the beach bar for an afternoon cocktail.

Highly unlikely unless they have all of their villa collection rented as they get privileges. Also several forum contributors have enjoyed cocktails there recently.

I agree with you - we ended many a night there but our friends just got turned away an hour ago for not being hotel guests. We are definitely confused!

I have a vague recollection that the beach bar may only be available to hotel guests, but that the Remy bar is open to all.

…or perhaps they took literally #20 of famous JEK advice list

This was partly true in November. I posted after our Thanksgiving trip that the Eden Rock beach bar is now only available to hotel guests. We were graciously welcomed to enjoy drinks in the Remy Bar day and night.

Great list/tips, except the Amex #13 comment. A year ago hardly any store/restaurant would except it. They said Amex charges them 10% so they dropped it. I might be dropping it too. Number 25 is spot on!!

We found the exact same thing. When we were there in November we strolled up to the "beach bar" and asked if we could order a drink (one of us wanted one of the frose's). We were informed that at that particular bar only hotel guests were served. They also stated that if we wanted a drink we could go inside (the Remy bar) and order one but it couldn't be brought out to the beach.

So I don't think there is any concern about the Remy Bar closing to the public.

pas du tout - even the natives are split about 50-50% on the subject ! Also vieux vs rhum blanc - all boils down to personal taste !
Certain here have a different perspective
I’ve always taken a glaçon or two in mine but the last time down kept the Canne Bleu in the freezer and forewent the ice.
