Day 10

Heart day

I was awoken sometime before 6 am by torrential rain striking the villa roof, mere moments after Lynn was out photographing the sunrise. All over in a few minutes and a double rainbow appeared off to the east. Alas, no picture to upload. After breakfast, jumped in the Jimny to do reconnaissance for Tuesday's antigen testing at the airport pharmacy. All good, headed over to shell beach to add a few more to the collection. Parked by the anchor and wandered over to store called Teck a few footsteps away. After some deliberation, we walked out with the third heart (St Barth Cœurs) in three years. Friends at Le Select a short time later informed us that odd items display well and that next year we'll have to buy two in order for the world to stay in balance. When at Le Select are decisions made by oneself?

A shared Marius burger (second of the trip!) and it's back the villa. Stopped at the circle for an impromptu photoshoot. The model was ready, but alas, the planes were not. Afternoon spent reading, again, in and out of the pool.

For dinner, we finally make the stroll down the beach to La Langouste. Despite horror stories of restaurants island-wide with empty langouste tanks, they indeed had some. Actually only two, both over 6 lbs. (which works out to maybe 300€ and a really big doggie bag). The waiter was quite reassuring that they had 2lbs ones in the kitchen's tank. Whew! Started off with Lobster Bisque for me and Gazpacho for Lynn. The plat was a shared Langouste Grillée with lemon burre blanc and sauce chien. Quite delicious and filling. To our surprise, we were offered shots of Rhum Vanille, which has been noticeably absent in about half the restaurants.

With a bottle of Ruinart champagne chilling for much of the vacation in the refrigerator, we rekindled a tradition of toasting the stars. By now it's midnight and time to head in.

Sounds like a fantastic day! Great looking langoustes and totally can relate to the timing of the planes....seems like they come in waves. Great shot nonetheless!
