some of you need this as a daily reminder.......

or...."today me...tomorrow you"

Oh please- you're down to sayings now- LOL

No I don't and it's not true. Justice comes in many forms and money trumps the normal judicial system for Brady and the Pats. That's the end of the story. Hope you don't have a contract with the school board that takes away your court given rights. You don't have a contract- right???

I do but I feel pretty safe that when I walk into school in a half hour no Board member will walk up to me and tell me I'm probably more than likely a rule breaker so therefore I'm suspended without pay for the remainder of the school year

With the comparisons between the NFL and the legal system found here and elsewhere it may be worth noting that, in the legal system, the Patriots would not have been able to simply decline making James McNally (aka "The Deflator") available for the follow-up interview and that a subpoena for Brady's cellphone would have been requested and probably granted. The Patriots' failure to provide McNally and Brady's not voluntarily turning over his cellphone were factors in how this has played out thus far.

In terms of the strength of evidence in the report and what level of punishment it warrants, it may be worth noting that the Patriots informed the NFL shortly after the report was issued on May 6 that they had indefinitely suspended McNally and John Jastremski (the assistant equipment manager) indefinitely without pay. The NFL letter to the Patriots of May 11 includes conditions for their reinstatement that may mean these 2 employees of 20 or more year duration won't be back.

It may get interesting from here on...

It may get interesting from here on...

it most certainly will

i would not give up my phone without a court order whether I was guilty or not and I certainly would not trust them when they tell me no irrelevant personal info from the phone will leak out if I turn over my phone

yeah right........and the check is in the mail too

It's just like Watergate. Nixon was going to win by a landslide anyway but it was in his DNA just like the Patriots. Once a cheat always a cheat. I wonder if Mike's A-hole buddy Mr. goody two shoes Kraft will apologize now- probably not. :triumphant:

I guess "honest" Bob Kraft is still waiting for his apology.

So I guess next on the agenda for the NFL, in the interest of equitable treatment of its employees, is the issue of the Vikings admitting they warmed their footballs on a particularly cold game day, and the Bucs scuffing balls for better grip ( which they admitted ) and lest we forget .....the Colts pumping artificial noise into the stadium so opposing teams can't hear their signals.......all clear cut rule infractions .........right????????

The comments to this NYT piece read a lot like this thread . . .

Punishment Is a Matter of Perspective

Fans in the Boston area were indignant over the penalties issued to Tom Brady and the Patriots. Fans elsewhere were applauding the N.F.L. and Commissioner Roger Goodell.

I believe Mike is in the Boston area.

140 miles from Boston in another state......nice try....LOL

I only care about one team.....and that would be the team I am a shareholder in.....

what I do care about is an inept inconsistent system of accountability no matter who is victimized by it.....as I patiently await the leagues actions against TB, Indy and Minny all who have been caught this year creating an illegal competitive advantage over their opponent ...:uncomfortableness:

And in 2001 the NFL punished Ray Lewis after his CONVICTION for his involvement in an incident that involved HOMICIDE. " ...league that fined Lewis $250,000 in 2001 for what then-commissioner Paul Tagliabue called his “unlawful obstruction related to a very serious occurrence" Homicide is considered by the NFL as a "very serious occurence" So I wonder what the likelihood of deflating footballs is considered by the NFL?

I know that when I was a young lad my father considered the possibility of my deflating his one "the Duke" football worthy of a serious penalty. I'm confused.

Ray Lewis pled to Obstruction of justice- a misdemeanor. He wasn't convicted of anything. Is Connecticut considered New England? Case closed.

And Ray Rice getting 2 games for beating his girlfriend silly in a video.....until public pressure got the penalty increased....but the league initially thought it was worth what ends up being half of what they gave Brady....uh huh....right...got it

this wont hold up....it will be amended

"this wont hold up....it will be amended"

No it won't. Brady appeals- his phone and emails become public.

BTW- both Adrian Peterson and Ray Rice admitted what they did. Did either one play last year? And did it involve cheating in a game or games??

Only because of public pressure

and you still haven't addressed the other three clear cut cases of cheating with three other teams last year that are somehow not being dealt with by the League

And why do you think the tweets from NFL players are so in favor of Brady ?

because they like him?

hardly

because they know their own asses are now in harms way for whatever cute cheating they re doing
