You can go on the Restaurant list above EATING/DRINKING and get all the ideas you need.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in March

Can you send me a private message with some places to eat that are not super expensive, for sushi and other food for lunch. Also can you tell me just a list of restaraunts that we have to go to while we spend 10 days in St barts

do a search in here or go to the best of 2004..that will give you all you need and more

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

Baz Bar is great for sushi. We went their twice last year thanks to everyone's recommendations here. Great sushi, on the harbour and live music. The prices were good too!

Le Bouchon

Budget Friendly But High Quality Nonetheless

Eddy's
Le Repaire

Tres Romantic:

View, view, view

Carl Gustaf
The Rock
La Mandala

High End, Including Foo Foo

Eden Rock, The Rock
Carl Gustaf
Le Gaiac

Laidback But Still Pretty High End:

L'Esprit de Saline

Fun And Sun

Nikki Beach
Sandbar (Eden Rock)
Cocoloba

That is a VERY incomplete list.

Bonne chance.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in March

If the Sand Bar still has that large tent over it it can't be too sunny. Minor correction. The rest is pretty much on.

You are correct Andynap. Sandbar is less "beachy" than Nikki or even Cocoloba. They may be a better fit in a category such as "Eclectic Semi-High End On The Beach".

Merci.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

With the erosion of St Jean it might be Rock bar and just plain Nikki.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in March

Also Francois Plantation has a very romantic atmosphere and has new owners, managment and chef. The really nice decor is the same as before. The sommelier was very personable on our visit, and the new manager sat with us and explained the new menus when we drove there to decide whether to invest in dinner. We were introduced to the chef and pastry chef.Dinner included several little items between courses.Francois Plantation is very pricey so be prepared.Excellent wine list. This was our special evening out.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

One other place that I should have listed under the "Cheap But Good Eats" category is the often-overlooked Le Piment.

If you want basic but good food (particularly lunch) in a very casual environment and dont want to pay a lot of money, this place is pretty solid.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

In that category I'd add Le Vietnam.Friendly casual place with very fresh asian menu.Very clean.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

Also, Le Creperie in Gustavia does a BANGUP breakfast and lunch for a very budget-friendly fee.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

My husband loves the profiterole crepes for breakfast.Creperie has been enlarged. The icecream case is open to the street and sandwiches and salads are showcased in it as well.More outside seating, too.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

Creperie is where ww go for breakfast when we are leaving to go home.....excellent...we are there almost everynight for espesso and a crepe as well

Le Bouchon...good...cheap...

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

Le Bouchon...good...cheap...

And you can get a Pizza To Go to carry back to the villa if The Little Mrs does not feel like going out for the evening...

And Cafe Victoire also does take-away and is very good. Tapas style and decent prices.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

Of course Rotisserie and Maya's To Go do takeout where you can put together a jammup picnic for the beach.

For that matter, the boulangeries have enough victuals for your beach needs. And, they have champagne (though no passionfruit juice for those of us who like champipple).

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

I think that Mayas to Go thinks it's Mayas to Stay- very pricey.

Re: Checklist for my last visit to St.Barths in Ma

(though no passionfruit juice for those of us who like champipple).

I thought champipple was champagne with ripple? No passion fruit juice required.
