Jim, I think I stood at that very window and got close to your exact shot! I agree, that green havens make the city better to photograph.

The building’s history is interesting . . . constructed by Huntington Hartford, in a controversial design by famed architect Edward Durrell Stone, to house Hartford’s “modern art” collection (a misleading description, in the view of many art historians), it fell victim to little use & Hartford’s profligate lifestyle before becoming offices of the NYC Dept of Cultural Affairs . . . the American Craft Museum . . . & today — through a favorable deal with the NYC Economic Development Corporation — the privately owned Museum of Arts & Design (“MAD”). Along the way, the exterior was re-clad in the “skin” one sees today, obscuring the original Stone design, except as visible at the ground floor level.
