As of June 9th, new process for arrivals to the island of Saint Barth

Stiles of WIMCO fame sent along the new official process for arrivals.


Here are the requirements for travel to St Barts after June 9.

1. All travelers aged 18 and older will need to provide proof that they have been fully vaccinated (2 shots, with the last taken at least 14 days prior to travel). Travelers will need to send proof of vaccination to their villa rental agency or hotel prior when making their reservation. Travelers may also be asked to show proof of vaccination when checking in, and again when arriving.
2. In addition, all travelers aged 10 and older will need to provide proof of a negative Covid 19 PCR test taken no more that 3 full days prior to arrival. Alternatively, travelers can take a Covid-19 rapid antigen test no more than two full days prior to arrival. Travelers will need to show proof of a negative result when checking in for their flights.
3. If you are traveling to St. Barths through St Martin, even if you are not spending a night in St Martin, travelers will need to pre-register to enter St Martin airport. The online form is called EHAS (Electronic Health Authorization System). To complete it you will need the results of your PCR test.
   Please note: When returning home via St Martin you will also be required to submit a request via EHAS to enter St Martin, although no additional testing is required.

Other important information.


Proof of vaccination - At present there is no portal or app for clients to upload their proof of vaccination. It is the responsibility of the booking agent (villa rental agency or hotel) to collect that information from the traveler to verify that they have been fully vaccinated.


Note that the text only includes a two-shot vaccination, but we infer that the one-shot J & J is acceptable, but the French stipulate a 4 week waiting period to be fully vaccinated.

I was told by Happy Villa last week the letter from our villa company is no longer needed. I was also told by Happy Villa and SBC that it does not matter how many days of passed between your second vaccine and your arrival date. :thinking1:

Poking around a little it seems maybe an antigen tests (as long as certain ones and with certain labs) may allow entry and thus I assume transit privileges to both SXM and SJU?
Luckily I have a while to figure it out. I'm deleting my above question because I'm not sure what I posted about entry requirements to SXM was accurate and I don't want anyone to read it as if it was.

COVID-19 TEST REQUIREMENTS

• A rt-PCR test for the SARS-COV-2 virus obtained from a naso-pharyngeal swab performed within 72 hours prior to departure to Sint Maarten (last leg in case of connecting flights) is required for all travelers originating from a country that is categorized as high risk. Antibody tests and tests performed outside of the 72 hours period will not be accepted. Results from home covid-19 collection test kits will also not be accepted. Airlines might require you to show a negative lab test result.

• For travelers from the USA, US territories and Canada the time frame remains 120 hrs. prior to departure. This will remain in effect as long as the national health authorities of the USA and Canada do not require differently for their traveling citizens.

Alternatively, travelers originating from the USA and Canada can do an antigen test for the SARS-COV-2 virus obtained from a naso-pharyngeal swab performed within 48 hours prior to departure to Sint Maarten. All FDA approved antigen tests including those with Emergency Use Authorization only (EUA) are accepted. Tests performed outside of the 48 hours period and home tests will not be accepted.

• Travelers residing in and/or traveling from a low-risk country are exempted from the mandatory rt-PCR or antigen test.
• Travelers who reside in a low-risk country but have visited a high-risk country in the 14 days prior to departing to Sint Maarten, must also have a rt-PCR or antigen test for the SARS-COV-2 virus performed within 72 respectively 48 hours prior to departure to Sint Maarten (last leg in case of connecting flights).
• The original test result to be uploaded as part of EHAS application procedure must clearly specify the name of the laboratory or clinic, full name of test subject, type of test administered, name of antigen test, swab date, source of the swab, result date and a negative result. Incomplete results, hand written or e-mail statements from doctors will not be accepted.
• Children of age 10 and under are exempted from the mandatory rt-PCR or antigen test. As of the day after the 10th birthday, a rt-PCR or antigen test has to be submitted.
• Airline and private flight crews with stopovers in St. Maarten or St. Martin must demonstrate a valid negative rt-PCR or antigen test upon arrival. Crew members not in possession of a valid negative rt-PCR or antigen test must self-quarantine until their departure flight.
• For travelers originating from a high-risk country, 14 consecutive days of self-monitoring of body temperature and possible flu like symptoms is mandatory. The travelers in this category will receive during 14 days an automated daily email alert providing a link for submitting the required information online. If you are remaining for a shorter term on the island, you will have to submit the information for the time you are on the island. Temperature measuring possibilities will also be offered in the lobby in most hotels and other lodging facilities.

We are extremely happy to announce that effective tomorrow, June 9th, St Barths is reopening! Fully vaccinated tourists will be allowed to enter St Barths without providing a compelling reason, and will be able to move freely about the island immediately upon arrival.

Entry to St Barths
All travelers 18 or older will need to provide proof of vaccination in order to enter St Barths. A traveler is considered fully vaccinated if they are either:

• 2 weeks after the second shot of a double-injection vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca)
• 4 weeks after the shot of a single-injection vaccine (Johnson & Johnson)

Travelers will need to provide proof of their vaccination at check in prior to their Tradewind flight.

In addition, all travelers aged 10 or older will be required to present either a negative rt-PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival, or a negative antigen test taken within 48 hours prior to arrival. Passengers will be asked to show their printed test document at Tradewind check in.
Unvaccinated tourists are able to apply for entry to St Barths by providing a compelling reason for travel.

Re-entry to the United States
In order to return to the United States from an international destination, all passengers two years of age or older must test negative for COVID-19 within 3 days of their departure flight.

Both antigen and PCR tests are acceptable for entry to the United States. St Barths has two convenient locations for antigen testing:

1. French Red Cross

• Free for antigen test
• 5 minutes from the airport
• Hours: Monday - Friday: 8a - 3p, Saturday: 8a - 12p, Closed Sunday and public holidays
• Directions: Located in the St. Jean parking lot, behind the cemetery and across the street from the airport runway

2. Pharmacy

• Antigen test costs 50€
• Hours: Monday - Saturday: 8a - 8p, Sunday and public holidays: 9a - 1p, 3:30p - 7p
• Directions: Located in La Savane Shopping Center in St. Jean, across from the airport

Antigen test results are usually delivered within an hour, but please plan for extra time to account for unforeseen delays.

Test Results Documents
Test results will be requested at check in for your flight. The test result should be typed and clearly specify the name of the laboratory or testing facility, name, date of birth, test date, type of test administered and how the test sample was obtained. Typed, written or e-mail statements from doctors or non-laboratories/testing facilities will not be accepted. If your test result is in the form of a doctor’s letter or hand-written form, please contact the testing facility to obtain a proper document.

France plans to regularly update the list of "green light" countries from which vaccinated tourists can enter without a test and unvaccinated tourists with a test.

Cases in the US over the past week have decreased to a level that, if maintained over a 14 day period, would now meet the criteria for inclusion on the French and EU lists of "green light" countries.

Other factors that may come into play to slow expansion of the “green list” include considerations related to reciprocity and concerns regarding the Delta variant (particularly given France’s strategy of prolonging the interval between doses of vaccines, which provide low protection against this variant until “fully vaccinated").

An additional consideration that those planning travel with under 18 y/o's may want to monitor relates to France's opening vaccination to 12-18 y/o's on June 15. Whether or when that impacts how that age group will be dealt with for entry requirements is uncertain.
